Read the latest Covid 19 update.

January 22, 2026

Dear Residents, Family Members, Staff and Visitors,

In an effort to keep everyone updated on our Covid status, please note that we have three additional cases to report. Today we have had one staff member and two residents test positive for Covid. The staff member does not provide direct care and has not worked a shift during the last 48 hours. The residents have had prior contact with each other. Both will now be cared for and monitored closely while they are in isolation. We do not believe the staff case is related to either resident case, as the staff member has not had any contact with either resident.

We will complete testing over the next few days based upon contact tracing for all three cases, in addition to testing based on signs and symptoms. The staff member will remain off of the schedule until they are cleared to return to work per CDC guidelines. The residents will remain in isolation until cleared to return again based upon CDC guidelines.

We cannot stress enough the importance of individuals monitoring their own symptoms and equally important, testing frequently. Identifying Covid as early as possible helps reduce the risk of transmission and thus slows the spread of this virus. As we have shared previously, we have test kits for individuals to use prior to coming into our building as well as after being in the center. Please do not hesitate to speak to a staff member at either reception desk for assistance with obtaining a test kit.

Our nursing administration team is in the process of setting up a vaccination clinic scheduled for Friday, 1/30/26. Individuals can receive a variety of vaccines, including the most recent Covid vaccine, as well as RSV, Flu, Pneumonia and Shingles. Residents and staff can sign up for the clinic by contacting our team at extension 2100. Vaccines remain the strongest defense against many viruses. We encourage everyone to speak to their Primary Care Physician if they have questions about vaccines.

Citizens Care Center continues to monitor the status of Covid in our area. We also remain in contact with our local and state health departments. Both anticipate upper respiratory cases rising through the remainder of this winter season. Please remember to wear a mask inside of our center and consider one when you are with large crowds. Sanitizing your hands frequently most definitely helps reduce the possibility of spreading infections.

Please look for updates in the next few days. Again, we appreciate your cooperation. Sincerely,

Ed Walter,
Administrator
