Read the latest Covid 19 update.

December 20, 2024

Hello Residents, Responsible Parties, Family Members and Staff,

This is an update on the status of Covid-19 at Citizens Care Center as we head into the weekend. Since our last update on December 18th, we have not had any resident test positive for Covid. However, we have had two additional staff members test positive for Covid-19. Neither staff member has been in our building for the last few days and they will now follow CDC guidelines before returning to work. Testing of residents and staff will continue over the weekend. We will provide an update if any additional positive cases are detected.

Please continue to follow our Covid-19 precaution guidelines which include mandatory masks in ALL areas of our building, frequent hand sanitizing and routine testing before coming into the building. Our staff can assist you with all aspects of our guidelines. Please don’t hesitate to ask for assistance.

We continue to have staff, who tested positive earlier during this outbreak, return to work after following CDC guidelines for isolation and testing negative for Covid-19. This weekend, several residents will be able to return to their regularly assigned rooms after being in isolation for the required period of time, as long as they test negative for Covid-19. We are excited about the possibility for these residents to move out of isolation over the next few days.

With Christmas approaching, we want to provide a reminder to any family member who is considering a leave of absence for their resident. Please provide us with advance notice on your plans which include the date and time that you plan to take your loved one out. You may call the appropriate unit for your resident and speak to their Charge Nurse or the Unit Secretary. Having advance notice, will hopefully prevent any delays as we must check for a physician’s order for their leave of absence. Keep in mind that residents whose stay is rnvered under Medicare Part A or a Commercial Insurance Plan have a maximum of fours hours out at a time or they risk those carriers’ denying payment. Understandably, it is not recommended for any resident who is positive for Covid-19 to leave their room at this time. We also expect anyone taking a resident out on a leave of absence, to exercise caution with their loved one and assist in protecting them from the possible transmission of Covid-19.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation with the impact that Covid-19 brings to our center each day. Please look for additional updates next week.

Sincerely,

Ed Walter,
